Every Book of Love movie thus far has not succeeded because it's not been a campy horror movie. I have thrown together a horror plot that lives up to the title, and would be sort of good, or at least watchable.
This movie’s protagonist is an outcast high schooler who wants nothing more than to be looked at by The Hot Boy/or Girl. We will see some scenes of our main character being bullied by Cool Girls, and pining, and dropping all her belongings. She's hopeless!
Our heroine gets her hands on The Book of Love, which is a book of love spells (she probably finds it in the high school library, next to a book on astrology). She uses said spells to make Hot Person fall in love with her, and she's somewhat successful, except they turn into a sexpot lunatic. When she turns down these aggressive advances, they walk in front of a moving car.
She's now found another use for the book: extracting revenge on her high school enemies. She becomes the vengeful matchmaker from hell, the villain she was always meant to be, the anti-Emma, destroying high schoolers lives through obsession, horniness, and death. She probably gets a voiceover monologue or two.
This is a shitty and low-budget movie but impossibly Hunter Schafer is cast as the main character. No one knows how that happened, but everyone agrees it makes a great addition to her acting career.
This movie owes homage to gingersnap, but i'm not a cheerleader, mean girls, jennifer's body, and every other great bad film
Thoroughly enjoyed the Marxist breakdown of colonial tropes.
