Hi. I am writing a longer essay for THE REAL SARAH MILLER that I hope will be done soon. In the meantime, the inclement weather in Northern California reminded me of something amazing that happened during another weather event several years ago. I hope you have phun reading it!
Sorry about the paywall but if you do not have the money to pay then I will give you a free one, it’s no problem, just let me know.
The Miracle of the Disappearing Concert
Years ago before T and I moved in together and were just “dating” he and his former roommate had a New Year’s Eve party at the house we live in now.
Earlier that night, I had gone to my friends’ house in Grass Valley to watch House of Cards. They were invited to the party too.
At around 9:30, I got a text from T:
IT’S SNOWING P HARD MAYBE YOU GUYS SHD HEAD OVER?
We stopped watching House of Cards long enough to look outside and indeed it was snowing hard. As we were getting our stuff together I got another text from T:
UGH WE GOT ALL SET UP FOR THE PARTY AND THEN JULIE GOT HERE AND SHE PUT THE PHISH CONCERT GOD HELP ME
I knew what he meant by THE PHISH CONCERT because my brother was maybe at this show or wanted to be and if he wasn’t at this one he had definitely been to a New Year’s Eve Phish show.
Now I hope we don’t have to spend too much time on this: some people love Phish, some people really hate them, this person Julie loved Phish to the point where she was like “There’s my family, and then my Phamily.” We did not love Phish, we were/are like Phorget It. Please do not leave some comment on here about how I should listen to X Phish song. It’s not going to happen.
I texted back something like "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.”
