Last week the New Yorker website published an article I wrote called “T’he Hockey Sister” about growing up in New England in the 70s, being the sister of a jock, and 70s pop music. I talked to my brother about all of this. There is singing in this episode.

The Hockey Player: Interview With My Brother
How did you win the brother Olympics?
He wanted to know more about your feelings. He acknowledged your compassion and forgiveness. He accepted your compliments gracefully. Maybe they taught those skills in hockey, but I doubt it.
He is also really lucky to have a funny, interesting sister like you who wants to interview him.
What was the nickname he kept calling you? Millie? Ellie? Tell me more.
I also hated it when those bastards would stop the clock. Like, sort it out, boys. If women did that, we’d never hear the end of it. Men can stop the clock but they will never stop to ask for directions.
