Something Something Beer? Stuffing
I listened to the podcast Ordinary Unhappiness today and they discussed the psychoanalytic issues people have with Thanksgiving and the holidays in general. TLDR: the holidays are hard because they remind us of Past Holidays and that makes us sad and mad, or, in the case of addicts, to want to start drinking or taking drugs again. Also: holidays are the time of year where we can’t pretend we aren’t related to certain people and that can be difficult.
I might sound like I’m making fun of the show, I am not, I love that show. I love Freud. You should take a Freud class next year, by the way. I just took two. Is it dangerous that I only know a tiny bit about psychoanalysis and yet see everything psychoanalytically now? Probably.
